Required Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or related degree with a minimum of 10 years design experience in a related manufacturing design environment. Or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of related design experience. (Directly related experience may be substituted for degree requirement.)
Proficiency in 2 of the following: AutoCAD 14 (or higher), Solidworks, or Pro-Engineer design software and good mechanical aptitude is required.
Req´d knowledge includes working familiarity with Nat´l Codes and Stds, ANSI Y115B Drafting stds; Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing System; General design principles; Applicable Manufacturing process experience; and Weld designation.
Must be organized, technically competent, have effective oral and written communications, experienced in working in a multi-disciplined environment and interfacing with engineers, designers, and drafters.
Desired Qualifications:
A working knowledge of French is a definite plus.
Familiarity with encoders, positioning systems, PLC control systems, conveyors and lifts, and automated manufacturing is desired.
Experience with powder transportation equipment (vibrating conveyors, hoppers, etc.), drum handling, or gloveboxes design is plus.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office is desired.
